2 August 2017 – Planning permission granted for Winchester’s largest affordable housing scheme

Councillors unanimously approved the development of 76 new affordable homes at The Valley, in Stanmore, Winchester, commending both the innovative design and the consultation process. UBU Design have worked alongside Snug Architects to undertake the consultation and masterplan the scheme, which forms part of the council’s ambitions New Homes Delivery programme. The Valley is spread across a number of sites, and brings back into use a previously neglected green space, providing essential social housing close to the heart of the city. Work is expected to begin on site next year.
