Ascot Road Community Free School

Ascot Road Community Free School is a new independent state funded primary school. Built to meet the growing demand for school places in Watford Green, the school regenerates a derelict, former industrial site and is part of a broader development which includes a new Morrisons. Working closely with ArchitecturePLB and Balfour Beatty, Ubu undertook an extensive design process to provide a primary school with strong educational external resources. This has been achieved through the spatial design as well as the configuration and choice of hard materials and soft planting.
