1 October 2021 – Eternal Wall starts crowdfunding campaign
Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer have now started a crowdfunding campaign to ensure building works can start as planned in Spring 2022. £2.5 million is needed to start construction of this Christian landmark structure in Coleshill near Birmingham.
They have the land and planning permission; the access road is being built; the interactive app technology is being developed and now the engineers and builders are ready to start.
Ubu were part of the winning team of the RIBA design competition in 2019 with Snug Architects as the lead designer.
Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer is a visionary project to create a new dramatic and inspirational landmark in the UK, a piece of public art of national significance. It will be constructed of a million bricks, each representing an answered prayer and will reach 50m into the sky.
The landscape wraps around the wall allowing it to rise majestically into the sky and enabling people to move and explore along a number of paths delivering you to viewing points which will provide a views from a variety heights and locations. It should be visible from the M6 and M42 motorways, the planned HS2 rail line and aircraft coming in and out of Birmingham Airport.
The planning application outlined the project’s associated visitor centre and public open space, including a car park and landscaped gardens.
