10 October 2025 – WICC shortlisted at RTPI Awards
The award winning Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) has been shortlisted for another award. After winning Best Project and Best in Region in the RTPI South East Awards, it has now been shortlisted as a finalist in the National RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence in the Health and Wellbeing Category!
The 48th annual Awards for Planning Excellence showcase and celebrate the best plans, projects and people who have made a positive contribution to communities. The national winners for the 2025 awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on 27th November.
This £34 million development in the town’s Civic Quarter was designed by ArchitecturePLB and with UBU landscape. Funded by Worthing Borough Council, the new centre brings together a range of health and care services under one roof and will co-locate a pharmacy, community services, and a GP practice alongside mental health teams, enabling more joined-up care. Its proximity to the town hall, library, and crisis café will further improve access to wider support for the local community.
This is the culmination of a long-term aspiration to make the most of this underutilised brownfield site in a highly accessible location in the middle of Worthing, as well as to deliver long overdue improvements to health care provision in Worthing.
