15 January 2020 – UK Landscape Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency

Ubu Design have recently signed up to the UK Landscape Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency.  As part of the Architects Declare Movement, we will be taking part in a London based workshop  ‘Architects Declare: Achieving The 11 Point Pledge’ on 23rd January to discuss ways we can achieve future-proofed, low impact healthy buildings.

In June 2019, RIBA trustees formally agreed to join the global declaration of an environment and climate emergency and the UK Landscape Architects Declare Movement followed at the beginning of January 2020.

RIBA President, Ben Derbyshire, said “The climate emergency is the biggest challenge facing our planet and our profession. But to have a significant impact we need to do more than make symbolic statements – we need to turn warm words into impactful actions. The implementation of a five-year action plan we have committed to today will ensure we are able to benchmark change and evaluate the actions that make most impact.”
