16 Jun 2018 – Para 55 ‘Horizon’ House submitted for planning

Ubu are delighted to report that  a planning application for Horizon House has been submitted. Horizon is an exceptional private house proposed within open Countryside under Paragraph 55 of the National Planning Policy Framework, and must therefore reflect the very highest standards of architecture and landscape.

The landscape proposals draw influence from the local landscape character, conceptually returning the site to the elemental components of the local landscape, to provide a significantly enhanced environment for the site. The concept for the building designed by Architecture PLB is inspired by flint, a naturally occurring rock, and the new dwelling will exceed Passivhaus Plus. The design strategy has been shaped to result in the integration of sustainable drainage, habitat creation and biodiversity enhancements, as well as opening up of strategic views across the site.
