2 December 2024 – Windemere Adventure Golf Course receives planning

The new 18 hole Adventure Golf Course in Troutbeck Bridge, near Windemere has now received planning permission.

Members of the development control committee for the Lake District National Park Authority approved proposals from Choices Health Club to construct this new course, which will be connected by pathways, together with features such as bridges, greens, ponds, signage and lighting. 9 holes of this 18 hole Golf Course will also be wheelchair accessible.

UBU assisted with the landscape design for this planning application, alongside Greenspan, adventure golf course designers.

Plans for a golf attraction adjacent to this health club in the Lake District were refused last year. However, after moving the course away from protected woodland, a significant landscape upgrade to the car park and a facelift proposed for the ageing front elevation of the health club, these new plans were successful!

The proposals will also deliver significant biodiversity enhancements to the site.
