22 August 2025 – WICC shortlisted for another award!

The new Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) has been shortlisted for another award – this time in the Health and Wellbeing category at the AJ Architectural Awards.

The AJ Architectural Awards celebrate and reward design excellence in UK architecture from across 16 categories. The winners will be revealed at an event at the Royal Lancaster London on 27th November. Here is the full list of categories – https://awards.architectsjournal.co.uk/2025/en/page/enternow

This £34 million development in the town’s Civic Quarter was designed by ArchitecturePLB and with Ubu landscape.  Funded by Worthing Borough Council, the new centre brings together a range of health and care services under one roof and will co-locate a pharmacy, community services, and a GP practice alongside mental health teams, enabling more joined-up care. Its proximity to the town hall, library, and crisis café will further improve access to wider support for the local community.

This is the culmination of a long-term aspiration to make the most of this underutilised brownfield site in a highly accessible location in the middle of Worthing, as well as to deliver long overdue improvements to health care provision in Worthing.
