29 September 2021 – Hanborough Manor School now complete!
Morgan Sindall Construction has now delivered the £3.2m extension and refurbishment of Hanborough Manor School in Long Hanborough, Oxford.
Ubu have provided the landscape design for the project, with Collado Collins as the Architect.
Funded by Oxfordshire County Council, the project was commissioned following the annoucement of 339 new homes planned for Long Hanborough.
Oxfordshire County Council worked closely with the Eynsham Partnership Academy Trust (EPAT), Hanborough Parish Council and Hanborough Playing Field Association to plan the expansion of the school and facilitate a land swap expanding the size of the site and playing field space. This expansion will mean the children in the growing community will be able to receive their education locally.
The project is set to expand the school from 210 to a maximum of 315 pupils aged 4-11. To expand, the school has acquired additional land to relocate the school’s hard play provision, facilitated the construction of the new teaching block on the existing hard play area, and created additional playing field space.
The brief also included the installation of a new MUGA (multi-use games area) as well as a Sports England pitch for outdoor activities.
