30th August 2020 – WICC receives planning permission
The new state-of-the-art Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) has recently been granted planning permission by Worthing Borough Council. The £34 million development in the town’s Civic Quarter was designed by ArchitecturePLB and with Ubu landscape. The new centre will consist of a range of health care and community services and a multi-storey car park.
Located at the back of Worthing Town Hall, it will see the existing Central Clinic site demolished to make way for the new one-stop shop facility.
This is the culmination of a long-term aspiration to make the most of this underutilised brownfield site in a highly accessible location in the middle of Worthing, as well as to deliver long overdue improvements to health care provision in Worthing.
The project will start on site in 2021.
