5 July 2025 – The Cathedral Hotel in Salisbury gets the green light

The new Cathedral Hotel in Salisbury has been approved at planning committee by Wiltshire Council!

The currently vacant Grade II listed hotel will be transformed into a 5 star luxury hotel, which will include 13 bedrooms, a restaurant, courtyard garden and rooftop terrace bar.

The hotel’s façade will also be restored on street level, using inspiration from its historic features

Designed by architects Corstophine & Wright, with UBU crafted landscape, the scheme was described by Wiltshire Council’s Economic Development Officers as “essential to the long-term viability of Salisbury City.”

Ken Parke Planning Consultants also said “The decision also represented the first time Wiltshire Council has employed the Exceptional Circumstances Test to the Salisbury 40-Foot Rule and granted permission for development which sits above this height.”
