6 December 2024 – Winnall Flats – a finalist at the What House? Awards!

Congratulations to The Winnall Flats Development in Winchester which was a finalist in the “Best Sustainable Development” category at the 2024 What House? Awards recently.

UBU Design provided the landscape design for this highly sustainable, affordable housing scheme for Winchester City Council’s New Homes Delivery programme.

Designed by T2 Architects, this scheme consists of 73 flats and 3 houses in an enhanced landscape setting, with the new flats a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom and shared ownership and rented. Parking has also been provided for the new flats in a range of small and large parking courts. 

The new homes, constructed by The Wates Group, were designed to be as energy efficient as possible, with the aim to achieve the AECB standard (Association for Environment Conscious Building) benefitting both the occupants and the environment.

Ubu’s landscape design will improve the open spaces around the site, provide link footpaths and develop a new community garden to the south of the site.
