8 January 2026 – UNCLE Wembley Gardens featured in Building Design

The Wembley Link project, named UNCLE Wembley Gardens opened in 2024 and was featured in Building Design Online this month.

This development was designed by Howells Architects, with UBU landscape and provided 256 new Build to Rent dwellings for the Wembley area on what was a challenging and constrained backland site. The one to three bedroom high quality homes were complemented with rooftop terraces and a generous ground floor play area and community garden, offering a tranquil environment for residents.

Its status as a “link site” between Wembley Central and Wembley Stadium means that the new development assists in re-defining the importance of Wembley’s town centre, acting as a catalyst for further investment and activity along the High Road.

Howells were asked during the interview who they collaborated with on the project and what was the most valuable service that they offered. They responded:-

“We worked closely with JJ Rhatigan, Whitby Wood, Max Fordham and UBU Design. Their input was vital in realising such a complex site. UBU’s landscape design was particularly valuable – turning what was once a neglected backland plot into a green heart for the development, with gardens, play areas and work pods that foster community”.
