9th May 2024 – Planning approved for Merrist Wood College

Merrist Wood College in Surrey has just received planning for 3 new facilities as part of their campus redevelopment – the new Arboricultural Building,  Animal Care buildings and Greenhouse, which will provide state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities for the college.

This campus redevelopment has been designed by Architects Bond Bryan Ltd, with Ubu landscape.

The Surrey-based campus of Merrist Wood College and University Centre are one of eight that makes up the wider Activate Learning group.

This approval marks the initial phase of what is anticipated to be one of the largest investment projects in Activate Learning’s history, with the project aimed at transforming and modernising the college’s aging facilities.

This exciting development is part of the Department for Education’s ongoing initiative to upgrade educational facilities across the country. It will not only strengthen the college’s ability to provide top-quality education but will also ensure that facilities can meet the future needs of all learners, particularly in the development of land-based skills.

The development will consist of two new buildings that will provide new facilities for arboriculture, countryside management, horticulture and landscaping, equine, and animal management.
