13 May 2022 – Opening of the new Alleyn’s Junior School, Dulwich

Ubu recently attended the opening of the new reception building, refurbed Junior school and exciting new play spaces at Alleyn’s School in Dulwich.

UBU have worked closely with the school community to deliver inspiring, creative and most importantly playful spaces enabling students to make the most of their play time.
The red ‘Ribbon’ ties together the new play space weaving through the school, to the enhanced ball court and playground, concluding at the entrance to the refurbed Junior school.
The tight spaces leading off the classrooms of the Junior school, have provided level access and colourful intimate spaces, which act as a canvas for the students and their creative play. The carefully considered design has really made the most of very limited spaces.

The development at Alleyn’s Junior School in Dulwich includes a new hall and reception building, freeing up space within the existing building for additional classrooms. The existing building has been remodelled bringing the library, IT suite and multi-function room to the heart of the school alongside the required new classrooms. ArchitecturePLB were appointed as the architects via a design competition to help the school increase the capacity of their infant and reception classes and redevelop their existing facilities.

The scheme has created a series of vibrant spaces creating a backdrop to the impressive new architecture of the reception building.
