Cornerstone School, Bexley

Ubu have provided the landscape design for Cornerstone School, a new SEN school in Bexley which will provide a local learning environment for 90 children with SEMH and ASC.

Designed by Pozzoni Architects and constructed by Galliford Try, works have included refurbishment and upgrade to the existing disused 1900s school building. This will provide general teaching and specialist classrooms and a dining hall along with a two-storey new build block. The new block is sensitively attached to the existing building via a single storey link to accommodate additional classrooms, a sixth form suite, a sports hall and associated changing facilities.

External works have included a new multi-use games area, external classroom, car parking and green landscaping to complement its setting next to a nature reserve.

Cornerstone School completed in summer 2023.
