16 February 2022 – Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) breaks ground!

Work has now officially started on the new state-of-the-art Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) with a ground-breaking ceremony taking place today. Representatives at the event included Worthing West MP Sir Peter Bottomley and East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton, Worthing Borough Council, SCFT, Worthing Medical Group, gbpartnerships working on behalf of LIFTCo West Sussex Estate Partnership and contractor Galliford Try.

Located at the back of Worthing Town Hall, the previous Central Clinic site was demolished to make way for the new one-stop shop facility.

This £34 million development in the town’s Civic Quarter was designed by ArchitecturePLB and with Ubu landscape.  Funded by Worthing Borough Council, the new centre will consist of a range of health care and community services and a multi-storey car park.

This is the culmination of a long-term aspiration to make the most of this underutilised brownfield site in a highly accessible location in the middle of Worthing, as well as to deliver long overdue improvements to health care provision in Worthing.
