Syrencot House

Syrencot House is a Grade II Listed Building, on the banks of the Avon, 12 miles north of Salisbury. The house will be transformed into a bespoke wedding venue with new ceremony and reception buildings within the grounds.

The house has a long and fascinating history. Most notably during the Second World War, Syrencot House operated as a base for paratroopers and was also the base for the planning and execution of Operation Overlord (the Allied invasion of June 1944) and the taking of Pegasus Bridge, amid conditions of the utmost secrecy.

The existing walled garden is enclosed by a historic Cobb wall which is particularly unusual. The restoration of the wall, as well as the design of a new formal walled garden, will provide the perfect setting for the new buildings, and a magical backdrop to the ceremonies that will be held here.

The design for the walled garden has been driven by historic precedent, with the incorporation of growing areas and fruit trees, and the addition of an outdoor kitchen and dining area centred around the former potting shed. The Ceremony pavilion sits adjacent to the walled garden creating a coherent and intimate venue space with the magnificent backdrop of the Listed house.
