10 March 2026 – Planning Permission Secured for Europa School UK, Culham

UBU Design is delighted to share that planning permission has been granted for an exciting new development at Europa School UK in Culham, South Oxfordshire.

Working as landscape architect alongside Hatton Planning, ADP Architecture, and Morgan Sindall Construction, UBU Design contributed to a scheme that will significantly enhance the school’s learning environment and outdoor spaces.

The approved plans include a new two-storey teaching block providing eight classrooms and supporting facilities, replacing existing life-expired temporary buildings. The development also features a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), alongside improved play and social spaces designed to support student wellbeing and interaction.

A strong emphasis has been placed on sustainability and placemaking throughout the project. The building is designed to achieve Net Zero Carbon in operation, incorporating a fabric-first approach, ground source heat pumps, and a bio-solar roof that combines green roof planting with photovoltaic panels.

The landscape strategy plays a key role in the scheme, with UBU Design helping to deliver a setting that not only supports the school community but also enhances biodiversity through measurable net gains.

This milestone marks a positive step forward for the project, paving the way for a high-quality, future-focused educational environment for pupils, staff, and the wider community.

UBU Design is proud to have collaborated with the wider project team and looks forward to seeing the scheme come to life.
