5 February 2024 – Next phase of externals are complete at Minet Infant School

After the remodelling and refurbishment of Minet Infants School in Hayes, Hillingdon was finalised in November 2023, the next phase of externals have now completed.

The project is part of the Department of Education Priority Schools Building Programme and is the first phase of the scheme to bring the existing Minet Infants and Junior School buildings up to modern standards, the Junior School following on over the coming school year.

Morgan Sindall Construction started on site in April 2022 and were awarded the contract through the Department of Education (DfE) Construction framework, which it was appointed to in December 2021.

This £16M project was designed by jmarchitects with UBU crafted landscape.

The project involved the complete refurbishment and remodelling of the school to provide new insulated roof coverings, double glazing and insulated external walls. Internally the school was updated throughout to meet current requirements in terms of acoustics, heating, ventilation, furniture, and finishes.

In addition, the classrooms previously housed in temporary buildings have been replaced by a new classroom extension to the infants wing of the school.

The early years wing was completely remodelled to provide reception classrooms with outdoor teaching spaces and a new nursery space with a new entrance off the street.
