STIHL GB HQ

STIHL, the leading global outdoor power tool manufacturer have built a new GB headquarters and state-of-the-art warehouse facility just off the A331 in Camberley, Surrey, moving the company from their previous premises in Stanhope Road

The 11,500m2 purpose-designed building completed at the end of 2023 and will now be home to nearly 100 local employees.

The new HQ boasts first-class environmental credentials including BREEAM Certification, the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for building projects.

Two-thirds of the total roof area (1600m2) is covered with photovoltaic solar panels to provide power to the new facility. In addition, there is provision for 26 EV charging points in anticipation of the continued move towards the use of electric vehicles and it is also connected to Blackwater railway station by a dedicated cycle path.

Ubu provided the landscape design for this project, which features landscaped gardens with native shrubs and trees and a wildflower meadow that forms part of an integrated flood risk mitigation zone on the former Thames Water Utilities site.

Three biodiversity offset planting schemes in Ash Vale, Lightwater and Diamond Wood in Camberley not only replaces greenery removed as part of STIHL’s project with native species, but also adds an additional 10% of planting provision.

The new 9,000m2 warehouse space utilises a state-of-the-art picking and storage systems to maximise productivity, efficiency and the use of space.

The adjoining 2,285m2 HQ boasts dedicated retailer training facilities, an on-site restaurant, flexible collaborative workspaces and a technical workshop.

STIHL is an important local employer in the region and has been based in Camberley since 1992 and in Surrey since 1978.
